POTTERS BETRAYED; SIRIUS BLACK ARRESTED!
In a shocking twist of fate, the Potters, who have been in an undisclosed location hiding from He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, were betrayed by their Secret Keeping and killed on All Hallow's Eve. Sirius Black was found at the scene of the crime laughing manically. He was immediately arrested by Aurors and taken to the Ministry for trail. Meanwhile, Harry Potter, would-be-target of the Dark Lord, survived the ordeal and many people think he is their new savior. The so-called Chosen One.
Later that very day, at the Ministry, Sirius was given his trail and under the influence of Veritaserum - the most powerful Truth Potion in the world - admitted that he was not the Secret Keeper. After further question he went on to say: "Peter and I switched at the last minute by request of the Potters and Headmaster Dumbledore."
It turns out that the twelve Muggles who were killed in the resulting explosion were done so by Peter Pettigrew. This wizard is still at large and also an unregistered Animagus taking the form of a common rat.
Sirius Black was cleared of all charges and released. That very night he went to collect his Godson and vowed to protect Harry Potter at all costs.
