Aspen was imported from Germany, where he had been trained in show jumping. He was imported at the age of four and jumped around from rider to rider until Chloe purchased him when he was seven. The next few years of his life started his prime, he was winning competitions left and right and lead Chloe to recognition in the jumper world. Chloe believes Aspen was trained in Europe by setting the top rail of a jump so it had electricity running through it, so when the horse merely touched it it gave them a slight shock. Aspen has only rubbed a rail once before, and afterward he took off like a madman to the corner of the ring and halted abruptly, he was quivering. That's why they were such a perfect pair. Chloe tended to knock rails, and Aspen never did. It was wonderful. They took a few Grand Prix titles together. Aspen is generally a calm horse. Sure, he prances around every once and a while, and picks up speed on course. But he jumps confidently and cleanly. He trusts his rider completely and will do anything he's told, which is sometimes a bad thing. He almost has no brain for himself. He still needs a reminder before attempting to swap leads, and needs someone to find spots for him. He's difficult to ride, but not dangerous, and he's a winner. Aspen is seventeen hands on the dot and has no markings whatsoever. He is a boring dirt-colored bay. Aspen has a light and agile build, but his hanoverian qualities can be most pointed out in his hind end and head, both of which seem to big for his neck and legs. Chloe will let experienced riders ride Aspen when their own mount doesn't have enough skill for higher levels, or they need an introductory into the show jumping world after being a hunter and eq rider. mikey is a lady killer?! of caution 2.0 |
