He's her step up to the larges, and he's been to Pony Finals twice now and been moderately successful at both. He's point-and-shoot, for the most part, but tends toward a pace that's a little quicker than necessary. Other than that, it's auto changes and crest releases the whole way through the course. Captain is a hunter pony, first and foremost, but if the need presents itself, he can double in the equitation ring. He's not super handy with tight turns, but he tries hard and takes care of his rider. He's just a hair's breadth short of 14.2, and his measurement came under fire for a year before he got his permanent card. Captain's got the stride of a horse, but in today's ring, that's not much of an accomplishment anymore. Suffice to say he's a hack winner with a great jump. mikey is a lady killer?! of caution 2.0 |
