She can be a very sweet, loving mare, but most of the time she's a little cranky. Sierra likes to have her own space, and is territorial when it comes to her stall. She doesn't kick, but she will bite and when she bites it isn't like a little love bite. It's more of a bruise or a break the skin type of bite. She doesn't get along well with other horses, and is skeptical of new people approaching her. Sierra does love treats (such as carrots, peppermints, apples, watermelon, etc.) and will act like a complete doll if you have food in your hand. When it comes to competitions, Sierra is a changed horse. She's focused and in tune to her work, with an amazing drive to win. She loves to please her riders and puts her best effort in everything she does. She is a hard working girl and pays very little attention to other horses when she's competing. Sierra is an excellent jumper, being trained in jumping since she was broke. She tends to over-jump some jumps and will miss a couple strides here and there, but she is an admired jumper. They have reason to believe that somewhere, at some point in her life that Sierra was abused. They only believe this because of her aggression to little things. Not to mention, she's overly territorial and protective of the things that she cares about, including her owner. Her former owner sold her due to the fact that she had bucked off his son and injured another one of their horses, and they labeled her "aggressive and impossible to love." She has an undesirable hatred for men, and refuses to be told what to do by one. When it comes to her owner, she seems like a different horse. She cuddles with her and nickers to her every time she sees her. She follows her around like a puppy and seems to always be in her face. It's a rare bond that Sierra has with Michelle, and a bond that no one else could have Sierra, even if they wanted it. mikey is a lady killer?! of caution 2.0 |
