Well, this is it. No turning back now. Robin Evans watched the rental car glide back down the smooth expanse of driveway until it slid around the bend and was hidden view by the surrounding woodland. As soon as it was gone panic washed over her. What had she been thinking? For a girl who had never been away from her mother for more than an overnight this was crazy. Especially since she had never had any real schooling. Okay girl, take a deep breath. She closed her eyes and followed her own advice. Then, before she could pick up her phone and call Claire to come back and get her, Robin turned back to her dorm. Claire had already helped her take all her bags up and leave them on one of the few spaces of open floor, so all she had was her cell phone and the fat wallet Claire had made her accept before leaving.
It was a strange sort of relief to Robin that her room mate still wasn't there when she got back upstairs and unlocked her door. The room was a mess; riding clothes and street clothes were strewn everywhere. Either the other occupant was a stereotypically messy teenager, or she had been in too big of a hurry this morning to pick up after herself. Robin was pleased to note that the pair of tall boots sitting by the door were immaculate and had their boot trees inserted properly. At least this other girl took her riding seriously enough to take care of her equipment. Of course, that didn't didn't mean her room mate showed her horse the same care as her boots, but it was a promising start.
At the moment there was stuff on both the top and bottom bunk beds so Robin just nudged her pile of bags further away from the door and tried not to step on anything that looked expensive. The panic was starting to creep back as she stood there, waiting on someone she wasn't sure she really wanted to meet. Making sure Batman and Puck were all settled in would make her feel better. Robin's horses had arrived at White Oak yesterday so they should be fine, especially since she had given very specific instructions of their care. Puck had a funny way of getting himself into trouble pretty much twenty-four seven though.
Rummaging through her duffel bag of riding clothes Robin grabbed the first pair of schooling breeches she saw and picked her way across the room to the bathroom. It took her only a moment to change but just as she was pulling her boot socks on she heard the door slam. That must be her roomie. Robin took a deep breath and opened the bathroom door, crossing to her bags and shoving her jeans into one of them before turning to smile uncertainly at the other girl.
OOC: Soooo, sorry for any assumptions about the room. I had no idea so I just sort made it up as I went along. I can change anything.

It was a nice, calm day, and she had wanted to take about an hour or two to completely unpack everything in her dorm. She started by scattering everything around, trying to sort into different piles: expensive, kind of expensive, and never to be seen in public, and started from there.
That was until some flustered looking groom arrived in front of her door in a sweat, panting out something about colic. Caden's eyes flashed open and she had sprinted to the barn in her Sperry's and skinny jeans, and finally arrived in front of Finn's stall where he was laying down and trying to roll himself in the shavings.
Caden's jaw clenched and she turned to the groom, holding back any rude comments. She muttered a small, "He does that with new bedding," and stomped out.
Now she was walking back to her dorm with her fists tight. Was Finnegan the only horse that roll around in his shavings? Uh, no. Now if he would've gotten cast, that could be dangerous. But he hadn't, so don't bother her. Especially when she was trying to get something done.
The blond watched as a car drove down the driveway beside her, trying to look at who was inside. Maybe someone had gotten sick of the competition already. Wouldn't surprise her with what she'd been seeing lately. But as it neared, she realized there was only a driver.
Caden climbed the stairs and walked down the hall so that she stood in front of her dorm door. She fumbled around in her pocket for the key and twist it, opening it inward.
Somebody was there. Great. Caden wouldn't have minded a roommate, but the fact that she came now? When the room was a freaking mess? That bothered her.
A normal person would've apologized, and picked everything up, probably. But there were two phrases that had never left Caden's lips: "I need help," and "I'm sorry." So she just used the excuse she had. It was true, so not really an excuse. A reason.
"Stupid grooms called me down to take care of my 'colicking' horse-" Air quotes around colicking. "Turns out he was just laying in his shavings. I was in the middle of unpacking."
She reached down to pick up a stack of Tailored Sportsman's and hang them in the closet furthest away from the door. "I'll take bottom, by the way." She nodded her head at the bunk.

It took Robin a moment to recognize the other girl. Every other time she had seen the hunter rider, Caden had been on a horse. It was weird to have Caden Taylor standing in front of her in normal clothing; sort of like seeing a teacher out of school. Or rather, how Robin imagined it would feel seeing a teacher out of school. Of course this was a little different. Caden was younger than her after all. But still.
Upon hearing the blond's explanation robin quirked an eyebrow. "Jeez, if they thought that was colic they've probably called the vet for Puck at least twice by now." The thought made her want to race down to the barn immediately to make sure they hadn't, but Puck had never coliced before in his life and she wanted to get to know her room mate a little better.
So instead of rushing out the door Robin tossed the bag with her pajamas in it onto the top bunk. "Okay, that's fine with me. I'm Robin Evans, by the way. Though if you've seen me at shows they will have called me Cordelia." She shot Caden another smile before turning to unzip one of the larger suitcases. She wasn't sure which one it was since her mom had done most of her packing and so she was pleased to find her favorite paddock boots and half chaps sitting on the top. Normally she rode in tall boots, but the half chaps had better grip so she liked to use them when she was pushing Puck's limits.
Or on days like today when the pony was probably full of himself from a couple days of travel and being in a new place. So instead of searching through until she found her tall boots Robin slipped on the paddock boots and zipped up her half chaps. She could put her stuff away later.
She was about to close the suitcase back up when she noticed something sitting just below where her half chaps had been; a photo of she and Puck jumping bareback and bride-less. Claire must have slipped it in to make her smile. Still grinning, Robin straightened moved across the room to lean it against the lamp on one of the empty desks.
Finally, she turned back to Caden. "I think I'll unpack later, if you don't mind me leaving my stuff by the door." She gestured toward the pile of bags. "I need to check on my horses and make sure they're settled in. I'm sure the poor grooms are sick of Puck already." She paused, unsure if she should ask. Oh whatever, she could always say no. "I only took the online tour of the grounds so I'm not sure where the barn is exactly. Do you mind showing me?" She was quick to add; "Of course, if you're too busy I can find it myself.
OOC: We could switch this to the barn or keep going here, whatever you want ^^ Robin will just be a little single minded until she checks on her ponies xD
