Away from the barn she lacks confidence. She is quiet and easy to miss, it's like she just sort of blends into the background. Once she sets foot in the barn though, it's like she's a different person. Calm, collected, confident. It's with her horse, covered in horse hair and grime, that her beauty shines through. Makeup isn't something she was ever interested in. To be frank, it isn't something she ever needed. Sure, some mascara and a dash of eyeliner here and there is something she experimented with. But it never stuck. Robin is one of those rare teens who is truly happy with her appearance. Her long, dark hair holds sentimental value so she hasn't cut it in years. Her hazel eyes belonged to her mother; she has no wish to change them. Average height, average build. Robin likes herself as herself. There is something oddly disconnected about Robin when she is riding or working with her horse. She might answer questions, or even carry on a conversation, but her attention is focused fully on the horse at all times. It's something that also carries over into her social interactions. If you can get her attention you know that it is her full attention and nothing less. Which is why it's surprising that she is such a good multi-tasker. Though that might just be a girl thing anyway. 'The past is the past is the past' is something her adoptive mother likes to say, and Robin is in complete agreement. When she was six months old her mother was killed in a car accident. Claire Evans was Victoria's best friend and had even been babysitting Robin when the accident happened. She immediately had Robin's grief-stricken father sign custody of Robin over to her. Kevin was in no position to argue. He was a racehorse owner and trainer above all else; he barely knew his infant daughter and had no desire to raise her alone. He sent the money for her upkeep on a monthly basis and came to watch her ride once she started showing. But he never showed any real interest in getting to know her and Robin returns that sentiment. Robin was home schooled by her adoptive mother until she found out about White Oak Riding Academy. Since Claire was a riding instructor and a horse trainer, Robin pretty much grew up on a horse. She could ride before she could walk. Because of Claire's insistence that showing was a waste of time and money, she didn't start competing until she was fourteen. Attending a local eventing show was what sparked her interest. She rose through the levels with astonishing speed. The fact that she had been jumping scarier things than any man-made fence probably helped a lot. As the stress of competing three days in a row began to wear on her little Mustang, Robin received the best present of her life; Batteries Not Included, a gelding bred by her father and trained by a world-class eventing trainer. And so began Robin's showing career. At the age of sixteen Robin found out about White Oak Riding Academy. It took an entire year of begging, cajoling, and convincing for Claire to allow her to attend and a single phone call for her father to pay the tuition.
